As turkey populations have continued to decline across the Southeast, we have been able at Keel Kreek to maintain a healthy population of birds.
Utilizing controlled burns, mowing practices which avoid nesting hens and very intense predator trapping have all helped play a role in this success.
While we have excellent roosting habitat in hardwood creek bottoms, abundant feeding and bugging areas in our food plots and fields, we still recognize the need to protect this valuable resource by being proactive on the number of mature gobblers we harvest each year so as to not over kill this age group.
For this reason we only offer a limited number of turkey hunts each season. Our hunts are semi-guided as most of our hunters want to do their own calling, but we can call for beginner hunters if necessary. We are also available to help with roosting areas, terrain features, and set up locations.
A turkey hunt here at The Kreek will allow you to experience some beautiful scenery, enjoy southern hospitality and have a great chance at harvesting a mature gobbler.
