OUR HUNTS

Experience the Extraordinary in Mississippi.

Mississippi has one of the most liberal hunting seasons of any state in the nation. Here at Keel Kreek you can book a hunt that is convenient to your schedule (Oct. 1 – January 31) instead of just a short 10 to 14 day time frame that some states allow.

Mississippi’s deer population is now fast approaching 2 million, the highest number of animals per acre in the nation. Our human population is only approximately 1,950,000!

Mississippi also claims the Buckmaster World Record whitetail scoring an incredible 321 7/8” Boone & Crockett, making it one of the largest whitetails ever harvested by a hunter.

All Keel Kreek property is managed by Quality Deer Management Standards.

What We Offer

We offer day hunts that are semi-guided, however fully guided is available for an additional fee. You can choose to hunt with us one day, or multiple days.  We require that all bucks score a minimum of 120" Boone & Crockett before they are harvested. Basically this means that the main beam must be as wide as the ears with good tine length.   However, children age 15 & under may harvest any legal deer.

We use a variety of stands, and also have fully enclosed shooting houses on all permanent food plots. You are also allowed to bring your own ground blind or climbing stand as well.

We furnish one meal per day (lunch) on every day of your hunt.  There are several hotels, including a Hampton Inn and a Holiday Inn, nearby where you may make reservations for overnight accommodations.  We have a 1500 sq ft building on site that is available at all times during the day of your hunt that includes bathrooms, kitchen area, and DIRECTV.

FAQ

How many deer am I allowed to harvest?

For a 1-day hunt 1 buck and 1 doe
For a 3-day hunt 1 buck and 1 doe
For a 5-day hunt 2 buck and 2 doe

Do non-Mississippi residents have to purchase a hunting license?

Yes, you must have a game license and a deer permit.  There is a 7-day license that is available for just under $140.

Who is responsible for the processing of any deer killed on a hunt?

We provide skinning facilities at our lodge, but the hunter is responsible for the processing of any deer killed.  There are also two local processing facilities within five miles if you would like to use them for a small fee.

How are the hunting areas accessed?

Access is walk in only.  However, you will follow a guide in your vehicle to designated parking areas, and walk into the hunting areas from those designated spots.  This allows you to have a vehicle nearby for emergency or other purposes.  We will also help with retrieval through the use of four wheelers or other ATVs.
